Don’t Say, "Bossy!"
You are listening to the sermon from 06/29/14
Faith Wesleyan Church in Rockford IL.

Scripture texts: Isaiah 59:12-15; Ephesians 4:15;

Synopsis: It is not uncommon for words to change their meanings over time. However, the word changes that have occurred in the past decade are forced and they certainly are not innocuous. We are being coerced to embrace new meanings for words that have unpleasant definitions. Like abortion. We are told we have to say choice. The fact is, if you change what I say, you change what I think. We are all going through a verbal reeducation boot camp. There is something very ugly, lurking below the surface of this insistence of politically correct talk and this current word banning craze. Scratch at it a little bit and youíll find why the push to ban words and change what we say is so strong. We canít handle the truth. We donít want to see ourselves as we are, so we change what we say about ourselves. The truth is considered hateful by those who hate the truth and loving by those who love the truth. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about us drove Christ to the Cross. The Biblical saying, the truth will set you free, is true on every level you can think of.
